This half term, our topic is called Blood, Heart and Circulation!
We will be exploring the main organs of the human body and their roles. This will include taking a closer look at how the heart works and how incredible our circulatory system is. Then, we will use what we have learnt to carry out an investigation about our heart rate. This will also include learning about what blood is and its purpose.
In art, we will be taking inspiration from Brazilian artist, Romero Britto and also creating abstract art by means of contrast and balance. We also be creating clay models of a heart too.
The topic will finish with the children being challenged to think about what they think are the most important medical breakthroughs in history.
Here you will find some information which shows the end of year 6 expectations in spelling, punctuation and grammar as well as some useful posters which show you how we approach formal written methods in maths when adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
